Adoption and Implication of RFID Technologies: a pathway for Smart Library Services

Abstract

Today libraries are using the latest technologies and trends to make the services popular and user friendly. The concept of library as a physical place where one can visit to get information. But the way of getting or retrieving information inside the library is changed now a day's. Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is very important for library to changing the existing environment and providing a smart library services. The uses of RFID applications in library increase the accuracy, efficiency, productivity and enhance the user satisfaction along with it provides safe and secured system for the intellectual property of the libraries. Though its implementation is moderately high but it really ameliorate the quality of library services. This paper discusses the applications of RFID technology which help the librarian to create a smart environment inside the library.
