Contribution of SAARC Countries to the Directory of Open Access Repositories (OpenDOAR)

Abstract


The open access movement is a benefaction of ICT to the research community. It provides access to information to users by eliminating constraints of space and time. OpenDOAR is an authoritative directory of 2730 academic open access repositories around the world. This paper attempts to examine the contribution of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) countries to OpenDOAR by size, language, content, subject and software used.
