Use of Internet by the Post-Graduate Students of six state Universities of Karnataka: A study

Abstract



The present study demonstrates and elaborates the different modes of Internet use, such as frequency of Internet use, place of access, purposes of Internet access, motivating factors to access Internet, most preferred search engines and problems faced while accessing Internet by the Post-Graduate students of six state Universities of Karnataka. The results of the study reveal tha: the most preferred place for accessing Internet continues to be the department; e-mail is one of the primary purposes of the P.G. students for accessing Internet; slow speed of Internet connection is the major problem while accessing Internet. And it is also suggested to conduct training / orientation programmes for the Post-Graduate students for the effective use of Internet.
