Digital Library Portal for Enabling Connected Learning 24/7 for Academic Libraries: A New Segment

Abstract

The libraries constitute a significant segment of education and research in academic and research institutes. Due to technological advancement changes have been observed in the Libraries and its services. Digital Libraries have become formidable tool to access quality assured information to facilitate academic and research activities. It is necessary for Library Professionals to provide qualitative services to its user community to satisfy their information needs in an earliest and easy manner. Digital Library is an answer to the access and dissemination for information seekers in any time. The present paper aims to explain the importance of Digital Library Portal and how digital library portal supports learning 24/7 for providing better services to the users. Further it narrates some general guidelines and features for creating Digital Library Portal in the digital and networked environment.
