Use of Wi-Fi Facility by the University Research Scholars: A Survey

Abstract

The present study made attempt to find out the awareness and use of Wi-Fi facility by the university doctoral scholars. It is found from the study that majority of the research scholars utilize the Wi-Fi facility for research purpose and also it is observed from the study that they are satisfied by the present Wi-Fi connection. A majority 59(84.3%) of the research scholars use the Wi-Fi facility ‘daily’. It is reveals from the study that 77.1% respondents use Wi-Fi facility to search information relating to research subjects. A majority 49(70.0%) of respondents replied that ‘limited connectivity’, is the major problem while using Wi-Fi. A majority 70 (100%) of the respondents replied that they are satisfied towards the Wi-Fi facility. It is recommended that expand the Wi-Fi connection in all over the campus, it increases the use of resources and services for their research purpose.
