Research Evaluation Metrics of Top LIS Publications in Google Scholar: A Study from 2009-2013.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the publications in the areas of Library and Information Science, its journals, and articles which express the growth and development of literature in field of Library and Information Science during the period 2009 to 2013. The present study significantly displays and elaborates the various aspects of the journals and their articles from the ground of metrics outlook, such as growth of literature, citations, year’s wise distribution of production, distributions by journal, Language dispersion of the literature, h5 index and h5 median, etc. The prediction of the authors gives a contribution to the area of LIS research by assisting the researchers, librarians and professionals to know where they should publish their research papers.
