Performance Evaluation of Academic Library: A Users Satisfactory Approach

Abstract



This study aimed at evaluating the satisfaction of users with the university library information resources, library services, facilities, attitude of staff towards users, E-library and location of the library. The study adopted descriptive survey. The population of the study comprised 4,102 registered students in 2015/2016 session. The study employed questionnaire method to elicited data from the respondents. The data collected from the respondents were analyzed with simple percent, mean and standard deviation. The study reveals that the users were not satisfied with the information resources, library services, attitude of the library staff and e-library. Also the investigation shows that the users were satisfied with the library facilities and location of the university library. Since the inception of the university library, this is the only paper that is evaluating the library collections, services, facilities, etc. using users' satisfaction approach.
