Library and Information Science Journals in DOAJ: An Empirical Study

Abstract

The Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) provides all over world open access journals to user community. This paper is aimed to discuss about the library and information science journals which are added to DOAJ. The collected data were analyzed by subject wise journals, Library Science Journals in country wise, languages wise and their fee processing status. Nearly 146 journals are listed as on 10th September 2013. Out of 146, the United States occupies the first position with 36(24.6%) journals, Brazil is in the second position with 15(10.2%)) journals and Spain occupies the third position with 12(8.22%) journals in DOAJ.
