Transformative roles of Librarians in Libraries: A Challenge

Abstract

The shift paradigm from traditional sources and services to newest technology has brought many changes in academic libraries. With this revolution librarian of this century face renewed challenges in every moment, that is not only about, “how to provide better library services, but also, how they would able to match all possibilities alike funding, focus, formats, function, and leadership”. So now, it is quite challenging task for them, how to cope with the present situation and look into the future. Through this article, the author forecast some of the major challenges and issues in academic libraries, which seek to identify the characteristics and qualities to draw some conclusions about future trends and directions for LIS professional.
