Information Seeking Behavior of Agricultural Researcher with E-Resources: A case study

Abstract

This paper is the outcome of research study conducted by authors on information seeking behavior of agricultural scientists in a state agricultural University of West Bengal, India, regarding usage of E resources. Data has been collected from 212 researchers through structured questionnaire and analyzed through proper statistical methods like weighted index, percentage, rank etc .Paper discusses the use of electronic resources by the scientists of BCKV .The purpose of study is to identify how the scientists use the electronic resources more or less, Types of gadgets they used, the purpose for using them, frequency and extent of usage, platform for accessing information, search approaches and advanced search technique they used and the place they prefer to access including the satisfaction level of researcher and problems faced by them during accessing the electronic resources.
