Raising the possibilities of Information Use through Information Literacy in Indian Universities

Abstract

The world is entered into an Information Age with the advancement in communication and information technology, there is a need of new and cost affective approach to increase the use of information for meeting the demands of explosion of information, fast changing nature of occupations, and lifelong education in higher education environment. As India is moving towards information and knowledge-based society, so it must be necessary for university students, research scholars and faculty members possess competencies and information literacy (IL) skills to use information effectively and efficiently to accomplish their research goals. This article will highlight importance of IL in Higher Education and how the improve the usability of information use with the help of IL.
